To help lift the Central Sterile Supply profession, you must get involved! To start, look for your local chapters. There is a chapter in almost every state. Each chapter has a representative that provides a voice at the national level. If you are a national association member, you also can run for office on the national level.
There are other options to help CSSD rise if you don't want to hold an official position locally or nationally. There is always room for subject matter experts that help with the development of the certification process. If you are more into philanthropy, get involved with a foundation specializing in the sterile processing field.
