Be Accountable in Sterile Processing

Updated: Mar 10, 2022

Light bulb - Thought of the Week

Accountability in sterile processing comes in many forms. We must ensure the safety of the products we produce for our patients by verifying the processes in our departments. Our practices must include that we follow the guidelines set by the manufacturers for reprocessing of the medical instruments and supplies. We should strive to achieve best practices as described by our professional associations and industry leaders. Our goals, not just as leaders, should include holding each other accountable. We need to speak up when we see others not following our established guidelines. Each of our policies, procedures, and job tools have a purpose, and the intention is to dictate quality and safety within our department and for our end users. Be accountable, strive for excellence, achieve greatness, be a sterile processing professional.

At Evolved Sterile Processing, our consultants have a greater focus on sterile processing. With our decades of experience, we will help you develop better processes and educational resources for your staff.
